Schools of Thought

Even at this day and age of technology-powered information re-distribution, books remain a solid tool to help you get started especially with a vast concept such as cloud computing. After that, the real education begins.

It's pretty rare these days to be attending an event where a book would steal the spotlight much like a new gadget or hyped new technology.  But this is what happens when you live at a time where a book is supposedly 'archaic' and then a presentor pulls out  'Cloud Computing for Dummies'.  Neat trick.  Surprise, it's not even on a Kindle!

The book's author Judith Hurwitz could not have imagined a better introduction.  Judging from her credentials, we can expect there's more than enough of valuable information from her to get somebody thinking cloud possibilities and opportunities.

But turning over the last page is where the research begins.  Like a fire in the belly, cloud computing with all it's developments at this stage cannot be contained within a single book, not even two. At the very least, learning is also about engagement which is what most events are for.  And speaking of events, something like CloudCamp would be an excellent start, wherever in the world you are.

But just in case you are in Las Vegas during the last week of April this year, you may also check Interop out.
